This was the house with the zebra duikers and many other animals. In this exhibit, I can remember seeing two mountain tapirs. It was a very old, tiny house with cakelike indoor and outdoor exhibits and too many animals in it.
I never loved that building, it was not useful to keep bigger animals in it, I've seen it full of animals,at the same time with mountain tapir,anteaters , four duiker species, klippspringers, two tree kangaroo species, red kangaroo and benett wallaby, serval, warthog, red river hog, aardwolf, honey badger, sloth and aardvaarks. Two duiker species lived together, one was seperated and the zebra duikers lived together with klippspringers.
The aardvarks had no access to an outdoor yard, it was used by musk deer. Also the honey badgers. This was the first time I've seen this building, I've seen it 15 years later again, a few of the animals were gone in the meantime, but the exhibits were still the same. The zebra duikers were still there, but a few years later after my last visit to Frankfurt, the last of them was send to the USA. A friend of mine has worked with this last female, it had gave birth to several youngsters, but noone of them survived.
