This part of the zoo appears to be quite impressive and Blinky Bill is an Aussie legend. I lived in Australia for almost 3 years when I was younger and I can still remember seeing Blinky Bill merchandise in stores and I looked him up and the famous koala made his literary debut way back in 1933. There have been books, movies, television shows, etc, and in Australia the character is apparently still very well known.

This exhibit was very nicely done. I should note that I haven't uploaded any pictures of the main nocturnal area which was two dark, only the small (and easy to miss) upstairs nocturnal enclosure which had Ghost Bats and Bilbies and was much brighter. There was also quite a lot of the tree that could be climbed up with Blinky Bill's home and bed in it and a few enclosures dotted around too. Had I not explored what seemed to just be a playground type thing thoroughly, I would not have found the bat and bilby enclosure and a few herp enclosures.
Presumably the re-theming was done to tie in with the release last year of "Blinky Bill the Movie", which is supposed to be followed by a kids TV show (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blinky_Bill_the_Movie).
And before that 'Naturally Wild', although perhaps that exhibit didn't feature as many exhibits as are there now (did have reptiles and nocturnal house though). I visited once in the late 90s and then early in the 00s, but can't remember a lot of specifics (and all my photos are hard copies back in NZ).
