The Zoo Leipzig is just realizing the most comprehensive construction project of its history, "Gondwanaland".

The project contains the construction of a giant tropical hall with an area of 15,000 square meters and a ceiling height of 35 meters, that will become home of different animals, mammals, birds, reptiles and fish from three continents (Asia, Africa and South America).

Thanks for the photos of the construction, as this place looks as if it's going to be rather impressive. Another great addition to Leipzig Zoo!

Apparently the same architects will be designing the new elephant park for Zoo Zurich.

I've heard rumors of the new elephant paddock in Zurich for years now, so is that exhibit finally getting the green light to begin construction later this year?

Design competition was last year so I expect they are well along in the process.
