Just another reason why the Leipzig Zoo must be one of the best zoos in Europe! Just the Pongoland exhibits elevate this establishment to be amongst the best.
This exhibit is not for Red Forest Duikers, only for Okapis... The Duikers live at the small exhibit built in 2005..... The large exhibit was built in spring 2008....
They use this exhibit also for the duikers, but they couldn't use it from the opening of the exhibit for the duikers because they had a young, which was to small for this exhibit...In the meantime, the duikers are also in this exhibit.
They use both 'old' okapienclosures for the duikers, this one just for the okapi, cause they're afraid, that they would hide and don't come in the house at night.
