Nov - 09 Ruddy Shelduck Duckling

We have sucessfully hatched 3 Ruddy Shelduck Ducklings, increasing the national population by about 3%

They will be handraised so the wild Goanna's and Kookaburra's dont eat them!

Taken with a phone camera, will get a better one later in the week.

Great to see you have bred them.

Would you be able to breed more if the eggs were collected and incubated, as the female would probobly continue to lay for longer.

No one does a better job incubating than the Hen Bird, also this way if they are moved into an enclosed aviary she can be allowed to raise them, otherwise she will become too relient on people raising them.
