Toddy 17 Dec 2008 The exhibit for the last baikal seal in captivity in the world in Leipzig Zoo. July 2008
snowleopard 17 Dec 2008 It's great to see these baikal seal photos, but what is with the pea-green soup?
R R redpanda 22 Dec 2008 Shame that this is the last one. Is the baikal the worlds only fresh-water seal?
Sun Wukong 22 Dec 2008 As mentioned before: last one in captivity-in Europe. Some are kept (and even bred) in Japanese and Russian institutions. And no, the Ladoga and the Saimaa Ringed Seal, two subspecies of the Ringed Seal, also live entirely in freshwater habitats.
