Rainbow Mabuya (Trachylepis margaritifera) at Zoo Leipzig - April 7th 2014

Not 100% on my ID of this animal; it was in the enclosure signposted for Pancake Tortoise (Malacochersus tornieri), Western Hingeback Tortoise (Kinixys belliana nogueyi), Rainbow Mabuya (Trachylepis margaritifera) and Mozambique Girdled Lizard (Smaug mossambicus), and certainly resembles the Mabuya.... but doesn't look quite right.
This was on display unlabelled within the enclosure signposted for Pancake Tortoise (Malacochersus tornieri), Western Hingeback Tortoise (Kinixys belliana nogueyi), Rainbow Mabuya (Trachylepis margaritifera) and Mozambique Girdled Lizard (Smaug mossambicus).

i'd definitely say it's not T. margaritifera , but as for what it actually is, i'm not sure- A Gerrhosaurus, maybe?
Time for some research!

After a bit of digging around online, i'm going to suggest Zonosaurus laticaudus.

I'd be inclined to agree - and looking at stocklists, Leipzig did indeed have the taxon when I visited.

Thanks!
