Chinese Pangolin (Manis pentadactyla) at Zoo Leipzig - April 7th 2014

Not the highest-quality image taken during the time I spent observing the Chinese Pangolins, but certainly one of the most unusual; granted it is not every day you see a pangolin, but even then, it is all the rarer to see a pangolin making a break for freedom!

Well from what we've seen/heard from LaughingDove, this may not be that rare of an event:p

Oh and a Lucky Bastard Award for you!

Do they have keeper chats where they open up the exhibit?

If memory serves, the keeper had opened the door briefly to retrieve a bucket and left it ajar, when this happened :p

From time to time, it is allowed to the pangolins doing a walk in the visitors area....also with visitors, if no too many people are there and if the keepers have time enough.
