A view into the exhibit for raccoons in the forest-biotope of the Alaska theme in ZOOM Erlebniswelt, Germany. A somewhat spacious exhibit with lots of plants and a shallow stream.

ZOOM Erlebniswelt is a brand new zoo built completely from scratch on the site of the old Ruhr Zoo. It is divided into three large themes: Alaska (2005), Africa (2006) and Asia (2010).

This is for raccoons? Wow. Many zoos would have a pride of lions or a pair of bears in this enclosure, and so it is great to see so much space and detail given to an animal as small as a raccoon.
