Do you know if this zoo has any plans to build a new elephant exhibit as part of their African savanna or Asian forest zones at some point?

They have kept an area between the asia and africa part free (or just used it now temporarily for camels) that can be used for elephants in the future.

Is there more free land behind the camel enclosure as the present area is not so big for elephants.

Yes, free area and a small part is used now by the camels.

It was the same thing with the rice-fields for the cranes. That was just there until they had the money for the tiger enclosure.
