Imho Geladas are really cool animals, and i dont know if there are any kept in Hungary until now. I wish to see some @ Budapest.. i think i have to go to Veszprém
BTW this looks like an enormous and well-created exhibit.
Good job Veszprém Zoo! other exhibits looks good too!
Zurich's is very good, although clearly modeled closely on the Bronx's "Ethiopian Highlands." But Zurich's is actually a bit smaller, and relies more on rockwork walls to contain the animals than does the Bronx. This proved to be problematic, initially, as the geladas all climbed out of the exhibit minutes after first being introduced to it! I'm sure they have remedied that with more concrete and hotwires.
It’s time to refresh the information about the animals of this exhibit. So, the bachelor group (Francouis, Grishu and Jürgen) was arrived from Lisieux and Duisburg in November 2005. They were moved to Stuttgart and Besancon, and a breeding groop arrived from Rheine in the end of January 2009: Amadeus, the breeding male, Gwladys and Günni the females, and their offsprings, Jasper, Julie and Jessi.
