The island looks enormous. It is quite similar-looking to Bristol's but I think may be a lot bigger.

The enclosure does appear to be much bigger than Bristol's, and according to the Dublin Zoo website the gorillas have a 12,000 sq. metre exhibit. Also, the link below says that "at least half an hour is needed to explore the Gorilla Rainforest" and that the zoo hopes to have 12-15 gorillas in the future.

The exhibit quality and size certainly warrants it. Until quite recently they have only had one breeding 'pair' (Harry & Lena) who have had four male offspring, but they also now have the 2nd young breeding female 'Mayani' who has recently had her first(a female) baby. Despite what it says in their group breakdown about her being 'unrelated to the rest of the group' 'Mayani' (though born in Barcelona) is actually Lena's 'neice' (Mayani's father is Lena's brother) so she is related to all the others except the silverback Harry, which is a perfectly okay situation. But to expand the group size, they really need another extra breeding female though. It would be a perfect home for young female 'Namoki' from Bristol who will need to change groups in the next couple of years.
