Stuffed animals at the zoo

This is a first! A taxidermist on call at a zoo...???

There is actually a stuffed lioness on display in a glass cabinet at Lion Rock, Colchester Zoo. However, it's explained that she was seized by Customs and she is there to illustrate a point about illegal smuggling. Though I hate to admit it, the taxidermist who prepared that lion did a good job and she was a beautiful animal.

This ...... this is just horrid, the fact it's been done so badly is an added insult to the poor unfortunate animal and posing it amongst grass as if it were a living thing is like something out of a horror film. A display like this one has no place in a zoo.

I was being sarcastic Ben, as there are a few North American zoos with taxidermists within driving distance, and even a few museums actually on site. Great Plains Zoo, Montgomery Zoo and Cougar Mountain Zoo are 3 off of the top of my head that have stuffed animals in a museum-like setting right next to live animals in enclosures.

This is the first time that I've seen someone putting a stuffed animal in an actual exhibit. Leopards sleep and lay around a lot, so most of the time zoo visitors don't see them move, but this is ridiculous...
