Golden phantom tetra

Your google search is for Megalamphodus roseus. I do not call this species a rosy tetra, the species that I call (and is usually called in the aquarium hobby) a rosy tetra is Hyphessobrycon rosaceus. I think the most appropriate common name for Megalamphodus roseus (which I agree is what you have) is Gold Phantom Tetra.

Surely Megalamphodus roseus is a synonym of Hyphessobrycon rosaceus

no, two separate species. Hyphessobrycon rosaceus (rosy tetra) was described in 1909, and has formerly been treated as a subspecies of H. bentosi (another synonym is H. ornatus). Megalamphodus roseus (gold phantom tetra) was described in 1960.

Sorry: I knew that Megalamphodus roseus and Hyphessobrycon roseus were synonymous and I got “rosaceous” and “roseus” confused.
