Of course you can ask questions and I'll try to answer them.
First question : taking photos in pet-shops is quite normal overhere althrough in the amount I do it, its not that normal anymore . And the staff is friendly and doesn't care about this.
Secondly, most of the staff working have some knowledgement but very basicly, at least the ones I asked questions about which species were in the tanks. Normaly they tell me that the name is on the tank but on the aquariums very "dealery" names are used.
With this I mean if a fish is yellow its a yellow species a, if its blue its a blue species b, when it has striped is or a tiger species c or zebra species d. In other cases only the group name is used like goby, wrasse or butterflyfish.
And of course there is a lot of changing of fishes from aquarium to another aquarium but the signs are left on the old aquarium. For a none-fish person like me it becomes then quite impossible to find the right fish with the right name.
Therefor I appriciate the help of all ZooChatters with helping to indentify the species !
all fair enough. I think in NZ the staff would be very confused by someone taking photos of the fish. However, this bit - "most of the staff working have some knowledgement but very basicly" - is very much like most NZ pet shops!
