VC I think it's the Common Crimson and gold Used to be called Pyrausta purpuralis, but most likely renamed by now. Flies May and June and second brood July and August larva feed on mint or wild thyme spinning 2 leaves together and feeding inside. Adult moths are both Diurnal and nocturnal.
