Tropheus duboisi from Lake Tanganyika.
A wonderful species which is an old favourite of mine: they are mouthbrooders which have a very long incubation time because the mother eats while the fry are in her mouth and they share her food - when she finally lets them out they are very large, for cichlid fry, and have black bodies with a regular pattern of pale blue spots. Such a thrill for an aquarist!
Thank you for indentification and the extra information gentle lemur ! I also find them very atractive and they seem to be quite common in aquariums. Does it have an English name ( Duboise chiclid ? )
