Indonesian exhibit with combinated crested black macaques and anoas.

Very interesting! How does the combination work? What sort of indoor housing do the crested macaques have?

The combination works very good! It's common knowledge that anoas could be very agressive (the male one in Artis have drill through the former female, she died). But the combination with the macaques goes smoothly. In this exhibit are living 2 anoas and a group macaques.

About the indoor housing; i've seen that the macaques dispose of tree trunks and ropes on the ceiling. Apparently it works!

Do they have their indoor quarters in the Minangkabause House or has a new house been constructed for them?

The indoor quarters for the anoas as well as the macaques are in the Minangkabau House.

I hope so that it's not a temporarily solution, because I really like this combination. Things were beginning to living up now
