Only just found these photos Monty.
The boss says she wants to save some for herself.I never have a camera, I'm usually to busy to worry about photo's anyway.I'd like to use this shot as an education tool too,to show the difference in muzzle width between the "English","German" & "Yugo" red deer.
This stag is a pure german which will be 5yo this Dec.If his beys aren't better next year he''ll find himself in the bachelor herd.
The hind 181 yellow is also german from an early embryo transplant she will turn 20 years old this Dec,she's starting to swell a wee bit so she's been filled (shes a great old girl & I'm so happy to see her still keeping up with the others)
They seem to like the cover up in that back pen more than I expected.It's about 1 deer to six acres in that one with half a small bail of lucerne & a couple of kilo's of grain per animal each week to keep them happy.The browse is getting thick but next year I'll put some sambar in it to clean up the regrowth & weeds.
