Pyrrhuloxia ( also know as Arizona cardinal )

A pity Arnhem doesn´t keep these anymore, such beautiful cardinals.

Not only Burger's doesn't keep it any more, not a single European collection has it anymore !
Zootierliste only mention 4 former holdings ( next to Burger's : Antwerp ( were I saw and photographed the last one during my visit in May 2014 http://www.zoochat.com/35/arizona-cardinal-368490/, Walsrode - were I took care for several during the 1980-ties - and Berlin Zoo.
I'm quite sure it is kept and bred in privat collections in Europe.
Does anyone know if it is kept and bred outside Europe ?

Were they kept in Burgers' Desert? I don't remember seeing this species.

They were indeed kept in Burgers Desert until a few years ago, but they were free-ranging, so it is not a surprise if you didn't see any .

I know of at least 1,1 breeding pair in Denmark (privat collection)
same breeder have 1,1 of Cardinalis phoeniceus also brreding pair
