The cave for the breeding group of seba's short-tailed bat in the underground tunnel between the Bush and the Desert. A group of young males of the species is kept free-ranging in the Bush.

Burgers' Desert was opened in 1994. It resembles the deserts of Arizona and New Mexico. It is connected through an underground tunnel to Burgers' Bush. There are dayactive as well as nightactive animals. Species include collared peccary, Californian bighorn sheep, ring-tailed cat and turkey vulture.
