Oh yes, and as such a damn nice species. I am lucky enough to have seen both the Northern and Southern Luzon, as well as the Panay Cloudrunner.
Main way of telling the Northern and Southern Luzon apart is the colouration, in my experience. The upper image is of a Northern, the lower is an image of Southern.
absolutely! I described the cloud rats at Singapore as looking like a cross between a Virginia opossum and a slow loris, which I think is quite apt. I do like rodents of unusual size!
I'd agree that is a good description of a Northern if you want to see an attractive and highly active ROUS, if you ever get over to Tierpark Berlin and Zoo Berlin you would rather appreciate the Chaco Mara and Rock Cavy found in those collections!
