Beautiful cat. I was very lucky to see these and get good photos at Port Lympne before they went extinct in western zoos.

Yes indeed, you have reminded me that I have a photo of one at Howletts in the Gallery. I hadn't realised that they had gone from Europe until I checked with Zootierliste a few days ago, when I was choosing some slides to scan and looking for small carnivores to make TLD jealous

An excellent photograph from a much-missed collection, and of a much-missed species; that said, not one that makes me jealous as I was fortunate enough to see it when I first visited Howletts in 2011, and Port Lympne in 2013.
