I'm not saying you're wrong mate, I don't know exact histories of individual animals in zoos!
It's just that 15-17 for lions in zoos is old, so assuming this male was 6-8 years old at least when the photo was taken, and its been 9 years since, I just started wondering if it could be correct that he was still alive and well and living in Arnhem.
Yes whe now that Azlan is still alive. He lives in Burgers Zoo in Arnhem.
But whe want to know what the name is from the lion on the picture.
My first thought was Azlan. But the date of the picture make him verry old. Now i think this is Midas (the father of Azlan).
Maybe you know the name of de lion on the picture??
I only answered Baldurs question. But the lion on the picture looks about the same as Azlan does now, but Azlan is a little bit darker, but that could be the picture...
Azlan was in 2002 zeven jaar (geb. 15-5-1995), dus dat klopt. Azlan ziet er hier erg rood uit, maar dat kan inderdaad aan de foto liggen. Volgens mij is hij het wel. Midas zag er toch anders uit, want dat was een Aziatische Leeuw. Hij kwam pas in 2005 naar Blijdorp en is de vader van Shantee. Azlan is geen zuivere Afrikaanse Leeuw. Vader Midas was Aziatische Leeuw en moeder Heleen een Afrikaanse Leeuw. En Azlan heeft het in Burgers prima naar zijn zin met zijn harem en kinderen met zijn bijna 16 jaar!! Het enige minpunt is dat hij in Burgers "Danny" wordt genoemd.......
