They famous klipspringer.. I have been there 2 times now, and that's his spot to stand, he's always up there! Funny animal though! Did you like the crocodile river house? Have you seen the elephant shrew?
There is no need to ? I have rabbits and gunina pigs in a spacious indoor exhibit, but in summer times, they enjoy to stay the day in their outdoor exhibit in my garden...
Welfare of Animals has nothing to do with the size of their indoor exhibit, so in my opinion, there is need to an outdoor exhibit for all species of hoofstock. A Zoodirector, who is especially interested in antelopes, should know that not the best and biggest indoor exhibit can replace an outdoor exhibit.Nobody would get the idea to keep giraffes, rhinos, hippos or other big animals just indoors, which is indeed possible, if the indoor exhibit is big enough, so the indoor exhibits for giraffes at Leipzig, Duisburg or Kronberg zoo or the elphant indoor exhibit for elephants at Köln, which is big enough, to keep them yearround inside. So there is no need to keep them also in an outdoor exhibit, wouldn't you agree ? From my side, there is no diffrence to the Klippspringers at Rotterdam.
I'm so Sorry for them, Rotterdam was once one of the best Zoos in europe, but now it seems to me, the high quality of this zoo is going down.
