The indoor exhibit for Asian elephants in the Taman Indah tropical house in the Asia-theme in Rotterdam Zoo. This is one of my absolute favourite elephant exhibits. Decent-sized, light, foliage around and a pool.

@Anaheim. The Amersfoort indoor enclosure is 600 m2, which makes it at least as big as the one in Rotterdam, I have seen these three exhibits several times....
Cologne is bigger, but it houses about 15 elephants, whereas Amersfoort has about 6. Size is not always an indicator for a good exhibit, maybe it looks more impressive that way, but Colognes indoor is big and has a pool, but really lacks structure and a good floor...
Yes, Cologne looks a bit drab, and the pillars and lights (or whatever those are) are real eyesores. Plus, the water feature seems a bit out of place. So I'll say that Amersfoort just beats out Cologne for 2nd, with Rotterdam still on top for now. (I've yet to see any other European elephant houses. )
Can't tell for certain from the photo, but the foliage in the rear and the "trees" appear artificial to my eye. There is live foliage in the foreground and elsewhere by the visitors
