Lar Gibbon and Malayan Civet at Rotterdam 10/05/09

It's succesfull, the gibbons almost never come on the ground and the civets don't climb. The gibbons first shared their enclosure with porcupines(but the moved to the crocodile river) and that also didn't gave any problems.

Apart from a nagging (and probably illogical) wish that this wasn't an all-indoor exhibit, I really like this. A really nice mix and a very good-sized exhibit.

On my visit a couple of days ago, all signage for the civet has been removed and there was no sign of the animal itself- I'm assuming it is no longer there?

The civet indeed left the collection (Zootierliste still says it's there IIRC but they are the most trustworthy source). At this moment the exhibit is only occupied by some elderly gibbons.
