I took this photo on my phone so I apologise for the poor quality. I just wanted to show how lush the gorilla exhibit is. This is taken from near the exit of the African Rainforest and this part of the exhibit doesn't have as much cover but is well planted.

Very interesting to see all these plants in a gorilla exhibit! Wonderful!

This is no Bronx or Disney in terms of sheer brilliance, but the Melbourne Zoo still has one of the best gorilla habitats I've ever seen. We need more photos Pat!:)

its been awhile since the exhibit has had to deal with young gorillas - so the plants have recovered quite a bit. the last batch of three babies demolished the place so bad they even succeeded in killing a fully grown peppercorn tree!

I can remember the three babies would manage to climb the trees while avoiding the hotwire...They were very boisterous. :)
