I don't get the map: - why is the whole of Asia (and European Russia) in blue?

I found it also quite strange but this species IS found in Asia and therefor they made the whole of asia blue. The same is for all distribution-signs in this zoo; if a species is found only in a small area in let say Africa, the whole of Africa is coloured....
