August 2 2014. When I saw this unlabled barn owl I didn\'t know which species it could belong to. Now I had some time to check out Zootierliste and found a surtain TLD ( ) had provided the information to Zootierliste that Zoo Veldhoven keeps this species and now I\'m pretty sure this is the species on the picture, a lifer for me !
Hate to say it but this is actually an Ashy-faced Owl; a different species and somewhat more common in European collections, but nonetheless a very attractive taxon! The species wasn't listed on ZTL for Veldhoven, hence your confusion, but I suspect it is still a lifetick for you the Sao Tome Barn Owl did not arrive until April 2015.
