In South Australia in the Flinders Ranges National Park there has been regular organised goat control by recreational hunters which has been very successful.
In the dry pastural regons feral goats have been more profitable than sheep. There are many millions and when prices are good they are trapped on water points or rounded up and sold.
Due to the global finacial crisis the value per head has dropped so they aint being mustered as much anymore. Years ago when i first started shooting, the cockies wanted us to kill every goat we saw, billys, nannies and kids. Now they just take a couple of good billys. I would love to be able to get on a goat cull in some of the national parks out west.
