Indoor hippo enclosure at Warsaw Zoo Sept 2008

A replacement is currently under construction.

And not before time! Hope it's done by now as this looks horrible.

Judging from the hippo photo here: Nowinki - Warszawskie ZOO it seems the new hippo enclosure is up and going.

We need someone who speaks Polish to tell us what it says about the hippos.
I clicked on the hippo symbol on the interactive map, but it turned out to show the rhino enclosure!
From what I saw it looks a pretty decent zoo.

Just had a quick play on that myself - the one you've clicked on is the rhino exhibit as can be seen in my other photos - they seem to have labelled it 'hipopotamy' by mistake! You can see the hippo house is you scroll right over to the righthand of the map - near to the lions and giraffes.

I found Warsaw Zoo thoroughly enjoyable.

Seeing the before and after picture, I'm so glad they remodeled it. This is just terrifying.

You can opt for the English language version of the Zoo's site (look on the left of the Home page, above the Facebook logo)... and the virtual tour of the hippo exhibit (at the bottom of the home page) responds to your curser (although apparently the camera has had alot of coffee!)
