Snow Leopard Cage, 25 January 2012.

This is the Snow Leopard cage as I saw it, although it was longer than just this as there were a number of cage segments that the cats could access. But still low and small, and in need of replacement, wich is what the sign says. Anyone know if it is still in use today?

To put it simply - No its not.
I will try to get a photo when I next go to the zoo which will be early January next year.

Their current cage is not good by any means but not too bad.

Thanks laughingdove, that would be great. Do you know if this cage is still in existence then?

I don't think this cage still exists as I can't picture it being anywhere in the zoo. Do you remember where abouts in the zoo it was?

I just had a look at the map, which isn't particularly helpful as it only shows some enclosures. I think it was near the reptile house, as my photos go Vicuna, Goral, Snow Leopard, Reptile House, and then continuing out to the insect house. However, they also show a second snow leopard exhibit, with two cats in it (so at least three total), that is much larger. This was located between the tigers and sitatunga - so possibly this is the one still in use, and the other is gone/changed.

I think this one must have been demolished, the other one still exists in the same state.

Thanks. I think this would have made a good exhibit for a smaller cat (which Warsaw does have a few of), or another species altogether, but certainly not Snow Leopard.
