This looks very impressive! What's stopping visitors putting their hands over and petting the hippos?
Although the photo doesn't provide scale, it looks a similar footprint to Whipsnade's Hippo House-correct me if I'm wrong. With the funding and will, I see no reason why this type of design couldn't be replicated by ZSL.
In terms of reaching over and touching the hippos, I'd say the glass is too high. If you stood on one of those stools you might just reach the top but I doubt anyone is tall enough to then put their hand all the way down the other side.
