It must have been 4 females. The Lisbon herd eles are: bull John, age 20, females Nina, Luna and Jane, age between 18 and 19 years, and the 2 females calves of Luna and Nina. The calves`names are Assuncao (3 years) and Primavera (4).
I remember seeing an image of lisbon zoo that included both African and Asian elephants in the same enclosure. We're there really Asian elephants at one point? I don't remember any in 2019 when I visited but I'm sure the image was from a while ago.
