Lisbon Zoo Circa 1978 - Dolphin show

Photo taken by my dad in the late 1970s.

This may or may not have been in Lisbon Zoo but this photo was on the negative at least. The pool looks more like a travelling menagerie than a fixed one in a zoo.

I can confirm that this was not at Lisbon Zoo.

A wild guess, but that looks like a small version of the Harderwijk dolphinarium, a forerunner of the current building perhaps?

As it was my dad who took this, and he is not able to recall anything due to it being over 30 years since, I'm drawn to blank (not that I knew anything before though). But now a Lisbon-based member has told me that this was certainly not at the Zoo so what can I say or do except believe him...

However, this photo was on the same negative as his Zoo photos, which surely makes it Lisbon at least, even if not the Zoo. Could it possibly have been a Lisbon-based circus or a fair of some kind that he might have visited prior to visiting the Zoo?

Looks like an air-supported structure, not uncommon with traveling dolfin shows back then if i remember right.
