Wow, you´re visiting Azores, you´ll most surely enjoy it. If you want some info feel free to ask me. Don´t miss the Terra Nostra park, it sometimes resembles Jurassic Park!
I would also invite you to visit Lisbon, specially the zoo and the oceanarium, even if the first isn´t as good as the second.

I could tell you more about Madeira than Azores, as i have visited it fewer years ago.
Both are lovely places and with a very tropical vibe, so you will be in a very similar climate to Cuba.

I agree, Madeira is beautiful. North side of island and South very different ecosystems. The south face of the mountains is the beautiful Laurisilva, a relic ancient forest
