You're welcome. The zoo museum illustrates different aspects of the historic development of zoos worldwide and Moscow zoo in particular, with each column dealing with another epoch. This cabinet is dedicated to Hagenbeck.
It was way back in the late 80s, before the collapse of communism. I was part of a mission that was sponsored by the Soviet youth organisation to come over to the USSR in the interests of understanding and co-operation. I'm afraid this was largely waste do me, but I was delighted to go to the zos of Moscow and Leningrad - and to drive past the entrance gates to the zoo in Yerevan, in what is now Armenia. Didn't go in there which is a huge regret - I'm unlikely to make it to Armenia again in this lifetime. Very much hope I'll be in Moscow again, some time soon.
