Pygmy hippo oral cavity

Mouth of many herbivores is equipped with sharp papillae. Not as creepy as leatherback turtle\'s ones, but still impressive.

After seeing the pictures of pygmy hippo anatomy and pooping tigers, i have come to the conclusion that Elephas maximus is actually the reincarnation of Salvador Dali as a zoofan. Is any other explanation possible ?

Many painters and graphic artists are also anatomy fans. That why the representations they make can seem strange or uncomprehended to the general public. Still, various of your photos seem similar to different surrealists in their graphic overrepresentation of anatomical body parts. So Salvador Dali and Man Ray come to mind.
