Probably the cutest fly ever, if only they were bigger.
Their fur is very fragile. When fly is being handled, it just rubs away :(
Bumblebees are better suited for cuddling.

They're big for the media of Bombyliidae :-)
But the biggest member of the family that I've found is Exoprosopa grandis. It was ENORMOUS! I have a photo of it with a Graphosoma semipunctatum, that we can use for size comparison. However I will not upload photos of this species to Zoochat because it lacks an english common name,

I only choose insects with english common name for upload here, because if not, I would flood this gallery with thousands of poorly known species instead zoo photos!

Choose most unique ones out of those common-name-less species.
In the case with Exoprosopa grandis, you may name it Great Bee-fly ... (latin pasted next in thread name)

I know that I could invent any common name - for that are the common names - but for me this is an indicator of how well known is the species internationally or in english-speaking countries so I decided that as the cryteria for uploading them.

There are certainly some pics of latin-names-only animals at ZC.
Why not making those species more familiar to everybody? Entomologists will apreciate this!

I considere them inappropiate for this gallery. If you want to see the rest of my photos see ipernity: Bárbol's photos (it's starting, I go alphabetically and the first photo is the last uploaded one. I try to upload a species a day)
