There we are then, a carefully chosen mix of bird and mammal species in a human-themed habitat. It's just as well rabbits don't burrow, and ducks can't swim, otherwise this carefully designed exhibit might not meet their requirements or serve any educational purpose.
I'm suprised if you guys have not come across rabbit (or guinea pig) villages before - I've seen many in smaller, more family-orientated places (Birmingham Nature Centre has one, for example). It's not to my taste, I should add, but they're really not that uncommon, and generally are fine for their inhabitants.
I'm not so sure about the ducks, but of course there could easily be a pool out of shot (and I wouldn't even be sure these aren't free-ranging ducks that have gatecrashed).
