I am still yet to see one in the wild. Often friends say I should have been there last week as they had a mod of 60 on their farm or there were 20 on the sewage farm yesterday. Everyone else sees them all the time.

same here. There are only a few Australian waterfowl I haven't seen yet and this is one of them. The Eremaea sightings round-up just came through the email box this morning and there were only a couple for NSW. There are a few largish flocks being seen in Victoria though (but not where I am).

I haven't seen this species yet either. But then, there are other species too that I keep missing - missed out on Regent Honeyeaters twice in one day last week!

the funny thing with birding is once you do finally see a species -- then suddenly you start seeing them everywhere.

Guess what I saw today.

I went to Kyabram Fauna park and there was a mob of 20 to 30 on one of their lakes.

They were 150m away, but close enough to identify. I will put a picture up.
