Cervus elaphus hispanicus

When I visited the Sierra de Andujar last Autumn (during the Fall rut), these deer were everywhere. It was virtually impossible NOT to see one. (Spotting mouflon and Iberian lynx was a bit more of a challenge, but I did manage both).

Has there ever been any Spanish red deer (Cervus elaphus hispanicus) outside of spain or portugul ?

I've never heard of any. I just checked Zootierliste's former holdings, and they also have no records of anywhere outside Spain and Portugal holding the taxon. 15 current and 4 former holders within those countries though, and they don't seem to be too hard to find in the wild if you're in the right place - it's just all about getting yourself to the Iberian peninsula it seems!
