Not very attractive. I believe there are 4 orangs at Madrid but I saw only 3, so one must have been hidden in here.

Yuk.:( These Ape enclosures seem very 'grotto'-style' which is pretty old fashioned nowadays. The concrete (or gunite-type) surface is very bad for Orangutans' coats too. There seems very little opportunity for climbing etc. either.
 
This is definitely not the best for Orangs, but its not quite as bad as it looks here. There was quite a bit of climbing stuff in this indoor accommodation, although all of it low. The outdoor, netted enclosure was pretty standard though, if lacking much in the way of climbing equipment, it definitely needed a few more ropes.
 
I've uploaded a photo of the outdoor enclosure now.

This grotto style doesn't even try to replicate a natural orang environment. It doesn't suit them and it looks unattractive to us. And dark too.
