So did I- same era. He was living with just one companion then.
Re his descendants, several are in the UK now.
One adult daughter 'Kena' at Blackpool.
One grandaughter 'Kera' at Bristol(daughter of Kena above but born in Barcelona)
Three grandsons- Kiondo, Kivu and Ndowe(there were 4 but one Kiri, died recently) at Paignton.These are sons of two of his daughters Kena & Makinda)
(These were all born at Barcelona but handraised at Stuttgart Zoo).
Of course technically they might produce another white Gorilla by breeding these grandchildren together, but it would not be encouraged by EEP I'm sure.
For a while in the latter years of Snowflake's life, he was kept with another of his own grown-up daughters. The reason given publicly was cited as being 'lack of space' but I'm pretty sure it was an attempt to produce another White gorilla before he died.
