My favourite part of the Zoo :D

Would be tempted to agree - the two 'big' houses (the reptiles and the birds) are definitely among the best exhibits.

Very true. It is interesting that the barcelona zoo has such a loyal following among zoochaters of such different nationalities, one factor is the great terrarium.

I'd need to sit down and go through to be sure, but I'm pretty sure it's my most-visited non-UK zoo, with four completely separate visits over the years (Berlin Zoo would, I think, equal this is we counted visits on consecutive days separately!). As I have said elsewhere, this is perhaps more to do with the city than the zoo, which has some excellent areas but an awful lot of rather less impressive areas as well. But I have a great deal of affection for Barcelona Zoo; it's given me a lot of life first over the years - off the top of my head, Saltwater Croc, Siamese Croc, Chinese Alligator, Broad-fronted Caiman, Long-wattled Umbrellabird, Golden-headed Quetzal, Blue-breasted Kingfisher, Spanish Ibex, Greater Spot-nosed Guenon, Iberian Wolf, Angolan Lion, Libyan Barbary Sheep and (I think) Blesbok are all taxa I saw for the first time here - and it's still giving me new species, like the Lesser Grey Shrikes at my most recent visit. Most of all - three great zoological gems from my first early visits: Tibetan Macaque, Molina's Hog-nosed Skunk and, of course, the only known albino gorilla, Floquet de Neu himself.

Still annoyed I never managed to see the Pyrenean Chamois though! :D
