Beautifull species ! I guess Barcelona is trying to breed them ( or have they already bred it ? ) and is it kept / bred in other zoos / collections / institutes ?
 
They are breeding them. The main breeding center is at Torreferrussa Wildlife Recovery Center (not open to public) and it's planned to open a new one at Fauna Center of Pont de Suert (open to public). I think that Barcelona zoo is the only zoo that displays this species. Their exhibit was opened 2 days ago.
 
Thank you for this too! They look so awesome, like amicture of what's around in europe, talking of urodeles. A bit of Neurergus, a bit of "whatever once was Triturus" and of course C.asper.
 
Thank you for the information. Good to hear that so much efforts are made to save this species and nice to see that a larger zoo also take part of it !
