There definitely aren't that many chimpanzee enclosures that have an indoor area that is open to the public in terms of not having any barriers between humans and chimps. No wire, glass, mesh, etc...very interesting and almost unique.
Check out the web cam from this exhibit, streaming pictures at one frame per second (when working at its best). If you happen to check it while it is nighttime in Sweden, and the picture will be all black, then click on the link "Historik 24 h" just below the picture and you will see snapshots from every one of the preceeding 23 hours.
I agree that this exhibit is quite spacious but I have to main problems with it. First of all it is very dark and second the accoustic in the building is horrible! Every sound bounces of the walls and creates a very noisy envirinment
It is a pity to hear about the acoustic problems. These could have been easily fixed. I don´t know the proper English words here, but I know that such problems are cheaply taken care of.
The darkness of the building is different matter. The chimp exhibit looks like a damn lit up theatre stage! Just look at the "stage lights"!
