This is the old polar bear outdoor enclosure, now home to a snowleopard breeding pair.

The Snowleopards arrived in 2006. The female Binu came from Marwell Zoo (UK) and the male Brahma came from Nordens Ark (SWEDEN). They have got cubs, but only 1 surviving. It was adopted by a snowleopard female at Nordens Ark (SWEDEN).

You can walk down in the enclosure and watch the big cats trough windows. You have the best chance to spot the snowleopards in the winter.

The backside of the mountain. Number 1 on the map.

A rare open moat snow leopard exhibit - I like it!

I bet it is even better in winter than in this summer scene, for two reasons: (1) It is filled with snow (I assume) and (2) the earth has rotated its axis to a different angle, so the exhibit is upright instead of sideways like it is during the summer :D

There surviving cub was moved from Nordens Ark to Twycross Zoo (UK) earlier this year. She has been paired with a male from Japan.
