This is a brilliant set of pictures from the tiger enclosure at Orsa and I have never seen a photo illustrating the concept of "borrowed landscape" better than this one.
Come to think of it, perhaps I should point out that my "political comment" directed towards Taun was meant as friendly joke. I probably should have used another SMILEY sign - I am not at all trying to turn ZooChat into a political arena...
Great photo! I don't mind the fence knowing that this enclosure is massive, and totally glorious for Amur tigers in the winter. (The fence is probably hidden by trees across most of the exhibit.)
Absolutely beautiful and fantastic for the animals. But it would be even better had the fences been tucked behind some plants or a berm.
But where are all the people concerned that you "have to see animals in the zoo"--it looks like one would have to be fairly lucky to ever spot a tiger here in the summer.
